There seems to be no stopping the students of Carmel Junior College.
The school team raised the overall champions’ trophy at the Odyssey — an international literary fest — organised by City Montessori School (CMS) on Lucknow’s Mahanagar Campus I between August 23 and August 26.
Beating 72 schools from India, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Australia, England and Pakistan, the team won the theatre contest where they presented the trial scene from The Merchant of Venice, the debate and Director’s Desk, a 10-minute documentary on nature.
Of 10 events, the Carmel team aced three to emerge the overall champs.
But, what makes their victory more special is this is the first time Carmel Junior College has won an event organised by CMS.
CMS has been hosting many global fests in art, science and others. Odyssey is hosted every alternate year. This was its sixth edition.
Eleven team mates were Ayushi Ghosh, Sinchan Mukherjee, Smriti Prakash, Ankan Nayak, Anwesha Pujari, Abhishek Kumar, Aadya Vatsa, Nitish Kannan, Ronit Roy, Qurratul Ain and Meghna Naidu.
“We loved the fact that schools from many nations shared the stage,” Meghna said.
