Ranchi, Nov. 6: The Gita should not only be read on religious occasions but be used as a stress-buster also in our busy lifestyle.
This astonishing fact came to light during the one-day seminar, ?Key to success from the Bhagavad Gita Management Principles?, organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad here today.
Dhanush Dhari Mishra, retired IIT (Kharagpur) professor and professor at Indian School of Mines and director of General Mining Research Institute, said that if one starts reading the Gita at an early stage of his life he would be relieved from stress-related diseases and high blood pressure.
Mishra added: ?A hard working person often has to pay the price of their success in their career by way of hypertension, diabetes or other such health problems caused by stressful lifestyle. Some of the successful people said they have been reading the Gita from their youth when I asked them their mantra to success and good health. This was an unexpected revelation as generally one thinks the Gita as a religious book only.?
?One should diligently practise the teachings of the Gita in your daily life and not bother about the failures. Even if the practice gets interrupted one should not panic. But try to revive it whenever it is possible for you,? he added.
He said a few universities and hospitals in Europe and America have accepted past-life therapy as a method of treatment on a par with Unani and Ayurvedic treatments.
Chief guest V.K. Gadyan, a chartered accountant, said the sermons inscribed in the Gita should be inculcated practically in one?s life. While citing an example, he said: ?Lotus grows in water but does not touch it and continues to bloom. In the same way human being should also try to handle the entire situation even in the worst period of time and not get carried away by it.?
Navin Modi, one of the participants, said these types of seminars should be organised on a regular basis so that an awareness among general masses can be generated about the teachings inscribed in the Gita.
