Jamshedpur, Nov. 6: Visiting a petrol pump would be more than just refuelling one’s vehicle, from now on.

After Reliance's A1 plaza on the National Highway (NH33), its now Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) turn to come up with a petrol pump that would provide more than just fuel. The company authorities inaugurated a multi- cuisine restaurant and a retail outlet at the company's petrol pump in Baliguma in Jamshedpur, today.

Situated about half a kilometre from the Dimna Chowk in Mango and named Club Bites, this is the first ever Club HP restaurant to come up in the city or its outskirts.

“After a broad survey of places, we chose the highways,” said V.K. Sinha, regional manager of Hindustan Petroleum, Jharkhand.

The targeted people are long distance drivers and those on pleasure trips.

“One of the major concerns on the highway is good food, therefore our company has decided to come up with restaurants along with the petrol pumps where people can have a grab after a tiring drive,” said Rajiv Singh, manager at the outlet.

“All good restaurants on the highway are in the Pardih side, and not a single one in Baliguma or Ghatshila. Therefore, we zeroed in on opening the restaurant over here,” said Singh.

More than the multi- cuisine speciality, the other major aspect is providing cleaner toilets. Fleur, the in-house brands of designer toilets will be put up in these toilets.

“After food, its the cleanliness which keeps the people away from the highway restaurants znd hotels. Therefore along with the restaurant we want to provide people with cleaner toilets that one finds in the best hotels,” added Sinha.

That is not all, soon all HP petrol pumps in and around the city would come with these Fleur brands of toilets.
