Jamshedpur, Sept. 25: Former Janata Dal (U) leader Hassan Rizvi today announced that he along with his supporters would join RJD in the presence of Laloo Prasad Yadav on September 27 at Ranchi.

Rizvi had tendered his resignation from the JD (U) on September 23 alleging that the party has failed to live up to the expectation of the people. He was also sore with the high command for removing Gautam Sagar Rana from the post of state JD (U) president.

?Our party workers had a meeting this morning and they authorised me to take a decision. We had also invited Rana. After discussion, we have decided to join the RJD,? Rizvi said.

A former legislator from Jamshedpur West, Rizvi joined JD (U) after the creation of Jharkhand.

Earlier, he had won the assembly elections on a JMM ticket and was close to Laloo Prasad Yadav.

In a separate development in Ranchi, three disgruntled JD (U) members, who have revolted against the state party leadership, are contemplating to form a ?new front? in the state.

Ramchandra Kesri, Ramesh Singh Munda and Lalchand Mahto, who had a meeting with supporters, however, claimed that the front would not be political in nature. ?We are just floating a social front to press for more reservation to the tribals,? Kesri told The Telegraph.
