Ranchi, June 7: Barely a week into President’s rule, Governor M.O.H. Farook today suspended two IAS officers, two from state administrative services and an executive engineer for dereliction of duty.
He also approved prosecution of one Laxman Munda for allegedly causing damage to Birsa Munda’s statue and constituted a high-level committee headed by the development commissioner to ensure smooth execution of welfare schemes.
Sources said managing director of Jharkhand State Mineral Development Corporation (JSMDC) Bhagwan Prasad had been suspended for dereliction of duty, insubordination, working against rules and hurting interests of his employer organisation. He had, earlier, been under the lens for alleged irregular appointment of JSMDC employees.
Farook has ordered departmental proceedings against Prasad even after suspension. Shri Krishna Institute of Public Administration director-general Shiv Basant will conduct the probe.
Inquiry will also be initiated against institutional finance and programme implementation department additional secretary Alok Goyal for his alleged acts of omission and commission in the capacity of social welfare department director. Goyal is charged with financial irregularities and administrative lapses. Revenue Board member A.K. Chugh will conduct the probe.
Ramkanda BDO Mahaveer Prasad Singh has been suspended for his alleged acts of omission and commission as Topchanchi BDO.
Torpa circle officer Namita Nalini Bakhla has been placed under suspension for playing truant without prior intimation.
Prison inspection executive engineer Amrendra Kumar Sinha will be denied three salary increments for alleged dereliction of duty.
