Shashi Agarwal, the Calcutta-based liquidator of Incab Industries Limited, has asked employees to submit additional documents for processing claims.

However, employees had submitted documents against their claims twice earlier.

Apart from the appointment letter, the liquidator has asked employees to produce salary slips of six months with proof of attendance.

'How can employees furnish proof of attendance?” said Aloke Sen, assistant secretary of Incab Industries Association. “It is the responsibility of the company management. The liquidator should ask the management.”

He pointed out that employees of the closed unit have been suffering for the past two decades, and the lockdown has further aggravated the situation.

“The employees are irked over the mail from the liquidator. They are feeling harassed,” said another local union representative.

He said the liquidator's action was illegal as the New Delhi-based NCLAT has imposed certain restrictions on the liquidation process. The issue is still pending with NCLAT.

“The NCLAT order also asked the RP (resolutional professional, read Agarwal) to take help of police and local administration for executing his responsibilities, but, he hasn't,” Sen said.
