Jamshedpur, March 5: Manoj Prasad, general manager of the Tata Main Hospital, has a busy schedule for Holi as it is one of his favourite festivals.
His family’s itinerary includes paying visits to relatives and friends to smear colour powder on each other’s faces. Prasad does not forget to host Holi revellers at his residence in the evening.
“I recall my childhood when we used to play Holi with paints and other things. The celebrations used to be quite simple,” he said.
“In our youth, the festival carried a different meaning — victory of moral values over immoral ones. But times have changed. Holi is played in a somewhat more materialistic manner in the city,” Prasad added.
Lip-smacking Holi special delicacies like malpua, kathal ki sabzee, dahi vada, puri and pulao are prepared at Prasad’s home on the occasion. “I like to savour these delicacies. They taste better during Holi than on other days,” he said. Prasad failed to recall any memorable Holi. “I don’t think anything memorable has happened. But it helps me and my family meet friends and relatives,” Prasad added.
