Lush green foothills of Dalma, airstrip in Dhalbhumgarh and scenic beauty of Ghatshila - will soon be captured on celluloid and this time by National Award winning veteran filmmaker Buddhadeb Dasgupta.
The film titled Uro Jahaj is expected to start shooting in October-end. The director recently visited the steel city to finalise some of the locations.
The film revolves around a poor man who always dreamt of an aeroplane ride and how his dream turns into a nightmare. #While the state subsidy is not a major concern, the director wishes to tap the unexplored beauty of Jamshedpur and its nearby rural areas.
Crew members of the project said Dasgupta had been immensely impressed by locations like Dalma foothills and Dhalbhumgarh air strip and wanted to capture the scenic beauty on celluloid.
"I had been visiting Jamshedpur since my early days as my elder sister and brother-in-law lived here. I was always in awe of this beautiful city. So for this film, I have decided to shoot here," said Dasgupta, over mail.
Dasgupta is also keen to work with local actors. "I feel Jharkhand is a hub of talent. While the main cast and crew of the film will be from Mumbai and Calcutta, there will be several local actors from Jharkhand," he said.
While Bollywood actor Chandan Roy Sanyal of Kaminey fame will play one of the lead characters, Jamshedpur girlSanchari Datta and Calcutta-based Faiz Khan have been selected through a series of auditions to play other important roles.
Dasgupta, along with his team, will once again visit Jamshedpur in early October to finalise all locations. The shooting of the film will begin thereafter.
