Dhanbad, Oct. 20: Aspirants are likely to make a beeline at the employment exchange office in Dhanbad on October 24 and 25, as it gets ready to host a two-day job fair organised by the state labour, employment and training department.

A range of technical and non-technical jobs, starting from posts of security guards and drivers to doctors, teachers, engineers and management trainees will be on offer at the fair.

District employment officer S.K. Singh said more than 35 companies, including prominent names such as Associated Cement Company (ACC) and McNally Bharat, would participate in the fair that promises to fill around 3,500 vacancies.

“Candidates willing to participate in the fair have to register at one of the employment exchange offices in Jharkhand beforehand,” said Singh. “However, registration isn’t mandatory for candidates applying for some of the technical posts such as engineers.”

“While appointment letters will be offered on the spot for some non-technical posts, jobs relating to few technical posts will be provided only after interviews that follows the fair,” said Singh.

The employment exchange office has put up the list of participating companies.

Earlier this year, over 2,500 jobs were offered to candidates during a fair held in the district in March.

“The main aim of the fair is to eliminate the middlemen, who tend to cheat employers and candidates by charging extra money,” said Singh.

The aspirants are required to bring two photocopies of their biodata and academic certificates during the fair.
