Ranchi, Jan. 20: In a nail-biting finish, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra defeated Allahabad Agricultural Institute (AAI) by five runs to lift the 14th Chetan Devraj Memorial Inter-technical Invitational Cricket Tournament here today.

The BIT team, which scored 193 for six in 30 overs, claimed the last AAI wicket with just three balls left.

Gaurav Gautam and BIT captain Joydeep Mukherjee put up impressive performances to steer their team to victory. Mukherjee, who made 57, was adjudged best player of the tournament.
