May 31: The IIT results are out. Confusion has set in. Coaching centres from all over Jharkhand are rushing to claim stake in the success of students.
Preliminary data pouring out of various coaching centres claim that at least 38 students from the state capital, 180 and 61 from Jamshedpur and Bokaro, respectively, and 21 from Dhanbad have passed the acid test to the Mecca of technology education. In fact, many are claiming the success to fame of the same student enrolled with multiple centres.
In Ranchi, Pen4Future, a coaching centre, claims to be among the best. According to R.K. Priyadarshi, director, ?Nimit Singhania from Bokaro, who secured the 61st rank, Rahul Singh, 72nd, from Jamshedpur, and Ankit Upadhay, who got the 80th rank are from their centre.? Altogether 73 students out of the 700 who appeared from this centre qualified, he informed The Telegraph.
Similarly, FIITJEE, another institute, claimed the best of results. ?Forty out of 283 students of our regular classroom programme have qualified. Sarika Mohapatra, who bagged the 83rd rank, is the topper among the students from Ranchi centre,? said an official. He quickly clarified that she hailed from Bhubaneswar and was attending classes in Ranchi.
According to FIITJEE, among the 40 who qualified are Vishal Anand, son of Rajesh Das, a senior engineer in Mecon, who has got 112th rank, Vivek Harsh 114th and Harsh Wardhan, son of M.V. Rao, a DIG in Hazaribagh, who got 4590th rank. Akriti Swaroop from Delhi Public School got 975th rank and Varun Torka got 167th
Another coaching centre, ?Pleasure of Physics?, claimed Sobhraj, one of their students, got 235th rank.
Delhi Public School, Bokaro, emerged the clear winner from this steel city this year, with 35 students of the school getting into the IIT. Nimit Singhania was followed by Sunav Chowdhry with 144th rank, Sushant Kumar (254), Sandeep Kumar Gupta (260) and Rohan Jha (317).
In ranking order, 4 students of Chinmaya Vidyalaya and 3 from St Xavier?s have also been selected.
Twelve students of Delhi Public school, Dhanbad, have also made into the premier education, the topper being Ashish Ranjan who secured 689 rank followed by Pratik Raj who has got 1170th rank. Three of DAV Koylanagar, too, have made it to the IIT, topper being Sunit Singh (1263).
In Jamshedpur, Rahul Singh of Rajendra Vidyalaya secured the 72nd rank, highest in the city, followed by Sunder Mohan of Jawahar Navoday Vidyalaya, Hata, at 73rd position and Vishal Singh (100).
