Jamshedpur, May 2: The three-day Live Each Moment of the Day (LEMOD) camp, organised by the Rotary Club Jamshedpur, concluded at the JRD Tata Sports Complex today. The camp was part of the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) programme.

Fifty-five students from the interact clubs of six schools — Loyola, Sacred Heart Convent, DBMS, Rajendra Vidyalaya, St Mary'sEnglish School and Kerala Public School (Kadma) — participated in this annual event.

There were six sessions —creativity, choosing a career, past life regression, personality development, etiquette and T-shirt painting. Forty volunteers, who are senior members of interact clubs of the participating schools, also took part in it.

The participants heard with rapt attention to the discourses of eminent speakers from the steel city. While senior faculty of XLRI, M. Shukla conducted the creativity session, well-known industrialist Gautam Mukherjee gave his expert comments on choice of right career.

Former senior Tata Steel official D.R. Mody conducted the session on past life regression. He advised the participants to forget the past mistakes and look to the future with a positive attitude. The chief HR Tata Steel, D.D. Pathak stressed the need for personality development and Sanghamitra Kabiraj, an expert on teaching deaf students, taught etiquette.

“The camp was organised by the senior members of participating interact clubs. We were there to help them,” said Sarosh Muncherji, chairman, Rotaract, Interact, and LEMOD camp. The camp offered the participants a special opportunity to develop the qualities of leadership and good citizenship, said Muncherji.

Students thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the camp. Interactors Anandita Mitra, Jaskaran Singh and Vijeta Mahendru said they had a “gala” time interacting with each other and participating in the sessions. After learning the qualities of leadership for the last three days, we go back with a promise to practise them in real life, they said.

Rotary Club of Jamshedpur president B.R. Master, Rotary district governor C.M. Singh and other Rotarians were also present at the camp.
