Dhanbad: Residents of Chas will soon be able to enjoy their spare time at a park complete with a gymansium, cafetaria and a spa centre.
Bhavani Construction has completed work on the park that has been developed under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (Amrut) scheme at a cost of Rs 1.31 crore.
Proprietor of Bhavani construction, Amrendra Singh, said the park had been developed on around two acres, 16 days ahead of its scheduled completion on November 30.
"It comprises three buildings, including a sports and entertainment complex comprising a gymnasium and a spa centre, a cafeteria and a toilet block comprising 11 lavatories -five each for men and women and another one for the physically challenged," he added.
The gymnasium comprises of a host of equipment including an abdominal isolator machine, Smith Machine with squat rack, high pulley, assisted chin dip, seated chest press, Pec Deck machine, shoulder press, seated row, cable cross, seated leg curl, leg extension and leg press, The spa centre comprises a spa massage and facial table, hot towel cabinets and sterilisers, shampoo and styling chairs.
The play zone for kids comprises around six single-seater swings, two sets of two-seater swing, a lunar slider and a jungle gym, also called monkey bars or climbing frames.
Chief executive officer of Chas Municipal Corporation, Jagdish Prasad Yadav, said, "We will soon take possession of the park and the mode of operation will be decided after a board meeting."
Chas deputy mayor Avinash Kumar said the contractor had also been entrusted with the task of extending the park in the second phase.
