Laws should be the same for everyone and no one should be given any special privileges. If M.S. Dhoni drives a vehicle with tinted glasses, the administration should penalise him just like any other citizen would be hauled up by the administration. The recent news of Dhoni being stopped by a police officer for moving about in a vehicle with dark glasses is a healthy gesture. The cricketer should appreciate the efforts of the administration for maintaining equality before law.

Dhoni is an international sportsperson and is mobbed by the public. This love and affection that people shower on him forces him to move about in a vehicle with tinted glasses. Dhoni should therefore be allowed to travel in vehicles that have dark windows. Sunscreen windows have been put in Dhoni’s vehicles not to evade the police or the authorities, but to keep the public from mobbing him. As an exception, Dhoni should be allowed to use tinted glasses for the sake of privacy in his personal life.

For Dhoni to move about in vehicles with dark glasses is not a luxury but a necessity. In a country like ours, cricketers are treated as demi-gods and their fans are often uncontrollable when they are in the presence of the sportspersons. There have been instances when cricketers, mobbed by fans, were held up and they had to get the help of the police to leave the place.
Dhoni does not stay in the capital and only comes for short intervals. The cricketer is fond of cars and bikes. He should be allowed to use tinted glasses on his four-wheelers, which, if denied, could also affect his personal life. The security aspect should also be kept in mind.

Rules have been made for all and no one should be given any special preferences. The general public will not accept Dhoni being allowed to use tinted glasses on his vehicles when others cannot do the same on their vehicles. People are being fined everyday. Under such conditions, it would be unfair to let get away for the offence.
However, if required, Dhoni can be given some kind of protection by the administration. But they should follow laws. Then, no one will bother the cricketer as the move would be understood and everything will be smooth.

Well, I guess nobody is above the law. But celebrities, I guess, are special. Cricketers, especially, are treated as gods. So I guess they are entitled to such small privileges.
In Dhoni’s case, there is a genuine threat of being mobbed by fans, so the decision to allow him to use tinted glasses is justified. To add to his credit, the cricketer had behaved decently when the police had caught him for using tinted windows. He did not throw any tantrums but clearly explained his stand, which is good. When authorities grant such facilities, celebrities must be aware that they may have to explain their position when questioned by public servants.

The law is equal for everyone and if a common man is not allowed to put tinted windows on his car, then why should M.S. Dhoni be allowed to do so? Even if the security was given as the reason for the sunscreen windows, I do not see any threats to his life because he is a sports star. He is not associated with any work that involves law and order. Besides, he is also not holding any constitutional post, which requires that he be given special privilege or protection.

I feel that the law is the same for everybody and also for M.S. Dhoni, though he is a celebrity. There are times when celebrities want some privacy and have to evade the public eye. But I do think that should make them take steps that violate rules. The law has been made after taking into consideration several factors and these rules are applicable for everybody. Celebrities should get used to the attention they get. There have been instances when people have seen Dhoni sitting inside a vehicle but have not rushed to greet him or mobbed him for autographs. But, it is up to Dhoni to react positively and tactfully solve the problem.

Though law should be enforced equally, there are certain cases where one needs to make an exception. In my opinion, celebrities like Dhoni should be allowed to use tinted windows on their vehicles simply because of security reasons. India being a celebrity-crazy country, such actions become absolutely necessary. People staying in bigger cities might be accustomed to seeing sportstars and movie actors, but in small places like Jamshedpur and Ranchi, it is better if they remain behind curtains. Else, it will be impossible to say when and how a mob will react on seeing a celebrity.
