Ranchi, March 15: Burglars broke into the house of a businessman at Argora Housing Colony in the Argora police station area and decamped with cash and valuables worth over Rs 6 lakh.

The incident occurred in the intervening night between Saturday and Sunday when Prem Vardhan Prasad had gone to his native place in Motihari to celebrate Holi.

A local resident said that the gang could have been caught had the police arrived on time. “A neighbour had seen the thieves entering the house and immediately informed the police. But instead of coming to Argora Housing Colony, the policemen reached Harmu Housing Colony,” the resident said.
