For instance, if a person is interested in buying his dream house, he would do well to get hold of a picture of any beautiful house from some brochure or magazine and place the same in the north-west corner of the place he is staying in at present. It doesn't matter whether it is hidden or displayed as long as the family signs it as “our dream house” and places it in the right direction.

What we are usually concerned with is how to dispose of a property and anything that can speed up the process is welcomed.

Generally the main reason for selling off an old property is that the family in question is moving to a new home. Others move due to financial problems. They own big bungalows but due to dwindling businesses and pressures of loan repayment have no alternative but to move into smaller houses. Then there are real-estate agents who want to sell badly-built houses which, if unsold, reduce their liquidity. Further, there are buildings with litigation troubles and the owners want to get these off their hands.

When it comes to selling a house, Feng Shui offers certain guidelines to follow. First and foremost, make sure that all the family members agree upon selling the house because if one member isn't keen on moving, he emits vibrations that attaches him emotionally and physically to the house. After everyone agrees, make sure that the first thing you do is put away all your family memories in the form of photographs, portraits, heirlooms etc. for it is the placement of these that turn a house into a home. When removed, these help a great deal in detaching oneself from the house.

Vigilance should be exercised while placing the 'For Sale' board outside the house. If placed in the south-west corner, the ruling earth energy of this sector will further ground the house and will not allow it to change hands.

This area, being connected with movement greatly enhances the chances of a quick sale. Keeping the signboard well-illuminated attracts buyers too.

Within the north-west sector of the house, you could keep the telephone numbers and addresses of real-estate agents and prospective buyers.

Clear the south-east area in the house of any clutter so that cash can flow in fast.

Energy stuck here would mean blockage of wealth. If you have placed a piece of heavy furniture at the rear of the house to symbolically provide support,then its removal would lift the anchor and result in a speedy sale.

Tip of the week:

Place the building model along with promotional material in the north-west of the builders' office. A sticker of ‘Sold’' signed by the builder should be placed on an auspicious day at the bottom of the model of the building.
