The Tata Steel sports wing has lined up a string of events to mark the 112th birth anniversary celebrations of JRD Tata, the doyen of Indian industry.

As many as eight separate events including badminton, football, cross country run for employees and carrom will be hosted to mark the special day on July 29.

While the open school shuttle event is already underway at the New Badminton Stadium, the rest will follow suit in the days to come.

The badminton tournament, which will conclude on Wednesday, will be followed by a football event for Under-12 and Under-14 age categories on July 29 and July 30, respectively.

The cross country run for employees of Tribal Cultural Society, Tata Steel Rural Development Society, Urban Services and the wings will take place on Wednesday.

A similar exercise for Jamshedpur Old Girls and Guys Association-affiliated schools will happen on Friday and run for Tata Steel employees is scheduled on Saturday.
