Bhojpuri film Kashi Amarnath is the next one to be shot in Jharkhand that has hit the headlines as a favoured destination for popular entertainment with the release of Vidya Balan-starrer Begum Jaan that was filmed almost entirely in the state.
Kashi Amarnath is being produced jointly by actor Priyanka Chopra's production house, Purple Pebbles Pictures, and Rose Quartz Entertainment. It will feature well-known Bhojpuri actors like Ravi Kishan and Dinesh Lal 'Nirhua' Yadav, and others like Amrapali Dubey, Sapna Gill and Sushil Singh.
While Priyanka's mother Madhu Chopra has been named producer along with Neha Shandilya of Rose Quartz Entertainment, Neela Akhouri is the co-producer.
Speaking at a news meet at Khel Gaon on Tuesday in the presence of the entire team, Madhu Chopra praised the state government for promoting film making in Jharkhand.
While actor Nirhua said he was fascinated by the scenic beauty of the state, which made Jharkhand an ideal location for shooting, Ravi Kishan praised the state's film policy that offers various sops to production houses for choosing state locales.
"The state's film policy is so attractive that it attracted filmmakers not only from the state but also from Bollywood," Kishan said.
Priyanka's production house is focused on making films in regional languages like Bhojpuri, Marathi and Punjabi. This will be the second Bhojpuri film to be produced by Purple Pebble Pictures after Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi.
