Jamshedpur, March 27: Two hundred people played games, took a trip down memory lane and took away gifts for all of this.

Kirron Kher, the well-known Bollywood actress, in an evening dedicated to the mother-daughter bond, interacted with residents as the brand ambassador for Tanishq jewellery in the city today.

In her maiden visit to the steel city, Kher said she was glad to be in a place she had heard so much about.

“I love the greenery and the freshness of this place that is missing in bigger cities today,” she said.

Speaking on her relationship with her 80-year- old mother who lives in Chandigarh, she said: “My mother fought for the rights of her daughters, which enabled me to be where I am. I ask the mothers here to stand by their daughter. Let the children pursue their dreams.”

The back-breaking road journey from Calcutta to Jamshedpur had not dim- med the smile on the face of this actress.

“The sight of all of you here has replenished me. But do pray for my return journey,” she quipped.

The evening had six rounds of games for the participants.

Each round had six different teams of the mother-daughter duo.

In one round, the mother and daughter duo were quizzed to find out how well they knew each other.

Mothers designed wedding cards for their daughters, teams matched jigsaw puzzles made of jewellery and daughters thanked their mothers in their own unique way at the special event.

The audience was also quizzed and Kirron Kher gave away prizes to the winners.

Nearly 200 people attended the event this evening.

All participants were chosen by a lucky draw after they wrote an essay expressing an unforgettable event related to their mother or daughter.
