Dhanbad, Dec. 17: There’s good news for residents of the coal capital who switch on television channels at dawn to catch Baba Ramdev’s pranayam.

Fitness freaks who swear by Ramdev’s pranayam instead of pumping iron, will soon get yoga tips from the guru himself, as Baba Ramdev will be in town tomorrow on a two-day visit.

Ramdev, who is in Dumka, will arrive in the district from Giridih via Bagodar and Topchanchi.

After resting on Saturday, Ramdev will hold court at Golf Ground on Sunday from 5am to 7.30am.

The yoga guru, who will be accompanied by 34 Ayurveda experts and 1,500 yoga instructors, will leave for Nirsa after the fitness camp at Golf Ground.

He will then address a gathering at Gurudwara Ground at Nirsa in the afternoon. After a brief visit to Kumardhubi Stone Plant, he will leave for Rampurhat in Bengal.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Federation of Dhanbad Zila Chamber of Commerce and Industry spokesperson Surendra Arora, who is also the media-in-charge of the event, said Ramdev’s visit was part of the Swabhiman Gramotthan Yojana.

“The Yojana is aimed at building a disease-free, addiction-free nation that is prosperous and without unemployment and illiteracy. And the best part is that entry to the camp is free,” he said.

Surendra added that 14 committees were looking after the arrangements for Ramdev’s visit, which were almost complete.

The district administration has also made elaborate security arrangements for Ramdev and his entourage, as the yoga guru has been declared a state guest by the Jharkhand government.
