Jamshedpur, July 28: Aman Verma, actor and anchor of the television programme, Khul Ja Sim Sim, will host a charity game show, to be organised by Jamshedpur Marwari Mahila Manch at Tata auditorium on September 20.

The proceeds of the show will be used for building a residential school for physically-handicapped children. President of the Jamshedpur Marwari Mahila Manch Beena Khirwal said Verma had hosted similar shows organised by the manch in Dhanbad and Ranchi earlier this year.

She said the proposed residential school was part of the manch’s community service programme. “The game show is being organised to raise funds for the residential school, where physically-challenged children will undergo training in vocational courses so that they can earn their livelihood. We will soon select a site for the school. Special children from Jharkhand and other states will be able to take admission into this school,” she said.

Jaya Dokania, advisor of the manch, said the charity game show will be held on the lines of Khul Ja Sim Sim. She said around 90 teams will participate in the show. The show will be divided into six rounds with 15 participants taking part in each round. The participants will be selected through draw of lots, which would be conducted during the programme. According to Dokania, the manch has still not decided whether entries would be through passes or tickets. Khirwal said several companies including, Hero Honda and Union Cycles, have shown interest in sponsoring the event. She said the decision to hold the game show was taken at a recent meeting, which was presided over by the national vice-president of the manch, Lata Agrawal.
