Dhanbad: Four persons, who had robbed Rs 3 lakh from a 40-year-old rag-picker at Mada Colony here on June 3, were arrested on Wednesday.
DSP (law and order) Mukesh Kumar said police recovered Rs 84,000 from the accused identified as Pappu Yadav of Hirapur, Dinesh Mahto of Bhuda, Vikash Chaudhary of Mada Colony and Dharmendra Kumar of Vinod Nagar.
"Two more persons involved in case are yet to be arrested and we are conducting raids to nab them," Kumar said.
"All of them knew that rag-picker Ranjan Shah used to keep his hard-earned money in his pocket," said Kumar.
Police said Hirapur-based watermelon seller Pappu invited Shah to clear the bushes at Mada Colony for which he was promised higher wages. When he reached there on June 3, Pappu and five others sprinkled chilly powder in his eyes and looted his money.
Police arrested Pappu from Hirapur and on the basis of his information nabbed the others.
Shah had migrated to the coal town from Arrah in Bihar around eight years ago.
Shah said, "Pappu lured me on the name of work and robbed me."
