Actress Shweta Tiwari (in file picture) has said people who prefer fair-skinned heroines in movies need to change their mindset.

"People who come to see a movie like fair-skinned heroines. They dislike dark-skinned heroines. This mindset needs to be changed," Shweta, the winner of reality show Bigg Boss 4, told journalists in Indore.

The actress's comments come in the wake of remarks made by minister Giriraj Singh in reference to Sonia Gandhi. "Had Rajiv Gandhi married a Nigerian woman and if she was not a white-skinned woman, would the Congress have then accepted her leadership?" the minister was heard saying.
