Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday adopted Jayapur village in his constituency Varanasi to fulfil his responsibilities as MP.
'An MP is often said to adopt a village... I have come to pray, 'Please adopt Modi',' the Prime Minister told the village of 3,000 that the RSS had adopted in 2006. Jayapur, 25km from Varanasi city, has had an RSS camp for 35 years but has no toilets or tube wells.
Sunil Dewdhar, head of the village RSS camp, said development projects like tube wells or toilets weren?t the Sangh?s lookout. 'Our job is spiritual and physical empowerment; our goal is mental growth,' he said.
