Order on medical test

Ranchi, Aug. 11: Jharkhand High Court today directed the state government and staff selection commission (SSC) to ensure that candidates who had been declared unfit in medical examination, but secured marks more than the last cut-off marks of a selected candidate be re-examined by a new medical board.

The directive was issued on Friday on a petition filed by one Mithun Kumar who was a constable candidate but was declared unfit in medicals.

Later, Kumar got himself examined before a CRPF medical board and was found fit. He moved high court alleging foul play in the medical examination conducted by the SSC.

The matter will come up again after three months.

Sao bail

The court reserved its order in the bail applications of Badkagaon MLA Nirmala Devi, her husband and former minister Yogendra Sao and their son Ankit Raj, all accused in a 2016 case for obstructing work at NTPC in Barkagaon during protest over land.

Clean toilet

The Bar association filed a public interest litigation seeking cleaner toilets for women advocates in high court citing a letter of a Supreme Court advocate addressed to the Chief Justice about the pitiable condition of toilets for women in the court.
