On the path to righteousness

Chief minister Nitish Kumar lights candles at Patna's Buddha Smriti Park on Buddha Purnima on Saturday. He celebrated Gautam Buddha's birth anniversary by worshipping Bodhi trees at his 7 Circular Road and 1 Aney Marg residences, and Buddha Smriti Park. He was joined by monks in praying for world peace. Nitish, well known for his inclination towards Buddhism, worshipped Buddha relics obtained from six countries at the park's Karuna Stupa. He also took part in a Vipassana meditation session. He praised the instructions given by monks at the park and said meditation facilities would be developed there. Monks Bauddhananda Bhante and Revata Bhante instructed the chief minister in the rituals. Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, urban development and housing minister Maheshwar Hazari, JDU executive committee member and MLA Shyam Rajak and many others attended the function.
