Mumbai, Sept. 24: Though the BJP is yet to finalise its seat-sharing with the Shiv Sena and the smaller allies, BJP leader Gopinath Munde’s two daughters, Pankaja Palve Munde and Dr Pritam Khade Munde, are scheduled to file their respective nominations for the Parli Assembly constituency and Beed Lok Sabha constituency in the next two days.

“ Pankajatai will arrive in Parli tomorrow morning at 9am. She will pay homage at the place where her father was cremated, and then file her nomination for the Assembly elections at 10am. Dr Pritam will file her nomination for Beed Lok Sabha bye-election on Friday at 11.30am at the Beed Collector office,” a spokesperson from Pankaja’s office in Parli told The Telegraph.

The eldest among Munde’s three daughter, 35-year-old Pankaja is the sitting MLA from Munde’s hometown of Parli and is likely to fight the polls against her own cousin Dhanajay Munde, son of Munde’s elder brother Pandit Anna Munde who joined the NCP after differences with the BJP leader. Pankaja completed a 3,000km “Sangharsh Yatra” earlier this month to thank and engage Munde’s followers in parts of Vidarbha, Marathawada and western Maharashtra. BJP President Amit Shah attended the concluding rally in western Maharashtra and was impressed with the crowds the yatra generated. Pankaja’s younger sisters Pritam and Yashashri, who is studying law, accompanied her during the yatra.

31-year-old Pritam has completed her MD in dermatology, and lives with her engineer husband Gaurav Khade in Mumbai. She will contest the Beed Lok Sabha seat vacated after Munde’s sudden demise on June 3 in a car accident in Delhi. Though NCP may field Dhananjay Munde against Pankaja in the Assembly elections, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar had said at a condolence meeting for Munde that his party would not field a candidate if any member of Munde’s family decides to contest the bye-election.
