KIIT offer for kids of Covid deceased

The facility will be available for two academic years,  2020-21 and 2021-22

The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Deemed to be University has announced a plan to offer free technical and professional education to the children of Covid-19 patients who have died.

Acting on a proposal by the founder of KIIT & Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, Achyuta Samanta, the institute has urged aspirants to apply to various technical and professional courses, including ITI and diploma, of KIIT-DU in accordance with their eligibility.

The facility will be available for two academic years, 2020-21 and 2021-22, KIIT said in a statement.

Preference will be given to the children of the Covid deceased from categories such as below poverty line, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Socially and Educationally Backward Classes.

“The move will provide relief to the people of Odisha who have been made helpless by the pandemic,” the institute said in the statement.
