Srinagar, Sep 13 (PTI): A youth was killed and several others injured as fresh clashes broke out between security forces and stone-pelting protestors in Kashmir, where curfew has been imposed in all 10 districts.

Soon after the Id prayers ended in Bandipora, a group of protestors started pelting stones at security forces, who retaliated by firing tear smoke shells and pellet guns, a police officer said.

He said Murtaza Ahmed, 20, was killed when a tear smoke shell hit him. Several others were injured in the security forces' action in Bandipora town.

Clashes were also reported in South Kashmir's Anantnag district after residents found the body of a youth who had been missing since protests two days ago.

Shahid Ahmed was found dead in Zainapora area of Shopian district. Police are investigating the death.

Local residents alleged the youth had died due to pellet injuries sustained during a protest.

With these deaths, the toll in the current agitation, which began on July 9 after the death of a Hizbul Mujahideen leader, has gone up to 78.
