IOC fire
• Siliguri, July 15 : At least five tankers caught fire and burst into flames outside an Indian Oil Corporation terminal near New Jalpaiguri railway station tonight.
The fire had started in one tanker and spread to the others that had queued up to enter the terminal. Two totos and a Sumo were also damaged as the fire spread. The blaze was brought under control around midnight by IOC personnel and fire-tenders.
Fake story
• Gurdaspur (PTI): The two teenage girls who were believed to have drowned in a canal here while taking selfies had concocted the story and have actually run away from their homes, police said on Saturday. The police got suspicious after they failed to trace the girls' bodies.
Forged letters
• Jammu (PTI): A man has been arrested for allegedly using forged letters of foreign minister Sushma Swaraj to get heli-tickets to the Vaishnodevi cave shrine. Police said the accused sold the tickets in the black market in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Advani house
• New Delhi (PTI): A minor fire broke out at BJP veteran L.K. Advani's Delhi residence on Saturday morning. Police said no one was injured and the fire was doused without the help of the fire department. The fire was caused by a short circuit.
Workers dead
• New Delhi (PTI): Four sanitation workers died of asphyxiation while cleaning a septic tank in south Delhi's Ghitorni area on Saturday. Police said they were pulled out in an unconscious state by fire department personnel after they did not come out for a long time.
Girl ablaze
• Pathanamthitta (PTI): A 17-old-girl was allegedly set on fire by her lover after she refused to accede to his request to come out of her house at Kadammanitta near Kerala's Pathanamthitta district. Police said the accused, who also suffered burn injuries, has been arrested. The girl's condition is said to be critical.
