Indian Army chief General M.M. Naravane on Tuesday visited some forward areas along the Line of Control with Pakistan in the Jammu region amid the deadliest spurt in violence the Valley has witnessed in years.

About a dozen civilians, seven of them non-Muslim, have been killed since October 1. Five of the dead were migrant workers. One was a prominent Kashmiri Pandit businessman.
