And Viveik Oberoi Is None The Worse For It. On The Contrary LIPIKA VARMA Published 22.09.06, 12:00 AM

After Viveik broke off with Aishwarya Rai, his persona seems to have totally changed. And for the good. He seems jovial nowadays, God bless him. Viveik first talks about colouring his hair in Naksha — “I told the director, Sachin Bajaj, that I’ll colour my hair only if you too colour your hair. First, he was shocked but I said it so seriously that he agreed to it. I immediately rushed to the parlour along with him and both got our hair coloured! Before I coloured my hair, I had winked at the saloon guy. My hair was washed and Bajaj found it to be good. But when he washed he was unhappy to find his hair atrociously coloured. I consoled him by saying that your colour will brighten up with another wash, which he instantly took. But all in vain. Finally, I couldn’t play the prank any further and we both burst out laughing.” Seems his close proximity with Ajay Devgan a prankster, known for the fast ones he pulls on his costars every time, has turned Viveik into a prankster as well. “Of course, yaar, I love to do such things.”

After Naksha, Viveik has turned out to be quite a Sunny bhakt and kept referring to Sunny Bhaiyya repeatedly. “Sunny Bhaiyya is a dedicated actor and always ready to help. He is a real stuntman and loves to do them himself. He believes in speaking less and doing more. We should learn from him. He was shocked when we went white water rafting in New Zealand, and I told him, ‘I am planning to take a dip’. He thought I was joking since the water was freezing cold. I dived in, but he pulled me out immediately. It was then I reminded him, ‘It’s your turn’. Sunny immediately dived in, too. In short, I really enjoyed the company.”

Did the people on the set ever feel he was jealous of Sunny? Viveik answered with one more story about his beloved Sunny Bhaiyya. “I used to get into his makeup van during leisure moments and come out with a grumpy face. People outside felt that Sunny must have given me a piece of his mind. But the fact was Sunny was so sweet. Together we would venture into a dhaaba where we could get delicious stuffed parathas. Sunny Bhaiyya used to call for both of us and I used to relish hogging it”.Coming to Viveik’s own kind heart, he says, “Yes, during the shoot of Yuva I was hurt 11 times in eight months. I was saved because of the blessings of my fans. Hence, now it’s my turn to help others who are targeted by mishaps”.

His favourite locations? Viveik gives an ‘A plus’ to Rohtang Pass and says that we have beautiful locations in India. “I have been all over the world. I plan to take a motor trip to Delhi, Manali, Rohtang, Spiti Valley, Ladakh very soon when I am free from my schedules. Anything going with costar Sameera Reddy, we ask, and Viveik says cheekily, “I only know her for having two beautiful sisters. I have known Sameera since the time we learnt acting lessons at Kishor Namit’s classes.”
