Calcutta, July 22 :
Students of various undergraduate law colleges today complained that Calcutta University has not yet issued admit cards for this year?s L.Lb examinations, scheduled to begin on July 27.
The students alleged they had urged the university to issue admit cards early this week. But no action has been taken, though the examinations are beginning on Tuesday. ?There are just four days left for the examinations to start. How can they expect us to go to the university every day when we should be at home studying?? a law student complained.
University sources, however, said the confusion was created following a decision taken by the syndicate, university?s highest policy-making body, to disallow nearly 200 law students from appearing because of poor attendance.
The decision was taken after the students had already submitted their examination forms, they added. Sources said the university will issue admit cards only after the forms of students barred from appearing were sorted out.
