Chhattisgarh: CM Bhupesh Baghel reviews progress of Socio-Economic Survey-2023, development of Rural Industrial Parks

The Chief Minister has directed the officers to work expeditiously towards setting up a minimum of one dung paint manufacturing unit in each of the development blocks

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that the rural industrial parks of the state will be equipped with Wi-Fi connection. This facility would further help in developing these parks as active centres of economic activities.

In an important meeting held at his residence office on May 6, Chief Minister Baghel reviewed the development of Rural Industrial Parks in gauthans and the progress of Chhattisgarh Socio-Economic Survey-2023.

The Chief Minister has directed the officers to work expeditiously towards setting up a minimum of one dung paint manufacturing unit in each of the development blocks. He has also instructed the officials concerned to establish market linkage of institutional sales centres of goods produced in RIPA with major business organisations.

CM Baghel said that the gauthans connected with RIPA should be developed as multi-activity centres, and the families with traditional businesses should be encouraged to participate in the economic activities. He has directed the officials to create maximum employment opportunities through the livelihood activities conducted in gauthans.

Instructions have been given to complete the skill development training of self-help groups associated with RIPA at the earliest. At the meeting, Chief Minister also gave instructions to plant shade and fruit-bearing trees in all the gauthans during the rainy season.

During the review of Chhattisgarh Socio-Economic Survey-2023 in the meeting, the officials informed that the survey was started on April 1 and completed on 30 April. Thereafter, the updation work was done from May 1 to 5. Now, special gram sabhas will be organised in villages from May 5 to May 15 to take claims and objections.

The cases of claims and objections so registered will be resolved from May 15 to May 18. From May 18 to May 25, the redressals done in the claims-objection cases will be approved again in the Gram Sabha.

In the meeting, Advisor to Chief Minister Pradeep Sharma, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Chief Minister and Additional Chief Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department Subrat Sahu, Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department Prasanna R, Director Panchayat Kartikeya Goyal, RIPA Nodal Officer Dr Gaurav Kumar Singh and Director of National Rural Livelihood Mission Divya Mishra were also present.
