“Kesho is a former area commander of the Maoists in Rohtas district and was wanted in many cases registered with us prior to 2013. He was absconding for a long time. We got intelligence inputs that he has returned to his native place. Our team arrested him,” Bhojpur superintendent of police (SP) Pramod Kumar said.

“The arrested person was well known as a landmine expert among the Maoists. We are trying to ascertain his involvement in cases registered in other districts. His arrest will throw new light on various incidents of violence till a decade ago,” Kumar added.

According to the police officials, Kesho is in his late 60s and seems to have stopped taking part in Maoist activities.
