Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, sticking to his promise revamped his cabinet on Sunday, according to ndtv.com.

The new cabinet shows a mix of senior and experienced leaders and young faces. The previous ministers, will get responsibilities in the party in order to tap their experinece keeping in mind the assembly and Lok Sabha polls in 2024.

The trend of giving priorities to Scheduled Castes and Tribes, minorities and backward classes continues. In the current scheme of things, the CM has raised "their representation to 68 per cent."

In the previous cabinet, there were 5 from Scheduled Castes, one from Scheduled Tribes, 7 from Other Backward Classes, one from minority. "This time, the representation has been increased by 17 – 11 from the Backward Classes, 5 from Scheduled Castes and 1 from Scheduled Tribes," adds ndtv.com.

Reddy also continues with the trend of five Deputy Chief Ministers, four of whom are from the Scheduled Castes and Tribes and minorities.

The government has also passed a law on 50 per cent representation for the SCs, STs, BCs and minorities and 50 per cent reservation for women.
