4 arrested for Bengal murders

Four persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of two BJP workers and a Trinamul activist at Sandeshkhali in North 24-Parganas.

Local Trinamul leaders said the arrested persons — identified as Akher Ali Gayen, Jabed Ali Mollah, Moinuddin Mollah and Moijuddin Mollah — were party supporters.

On June 8, the BJP’s Pradip Mondal and Sukanta Mondal and Trinamul’s Kayum Mollah were killed in the area.

The accused have been booked for murder and mischief by fire or explosive substances.

Seikh Sajahan, the main accused and a local Trinamul leader, is absconding, police sources said. Debdas Mondal, a BJP supporter, is missing since the clash.
