Srinagar, Oct. 3 (Agencies): Two terrorists and a Border Security Force soldier died when camps of the Indian Army and the BSF in north Kashmir were attacked on Sunday night.

Heavily-armed terrorists attacked the two camps belonging to the Rashtriya Rifles, a specialised counter-insurgency force, and Border Security Force, at Baramulla, late on Sunday night, leading to a fierce gun-battle.

Two terrorists were killed while one BSF soldier, identified as Nitin, who was hit by bullets, died of his injuries later, a home ministry spokesperson said in New Delhi.

Another BSF solider, Pulwinder, was injured in the attack, which came two weeks after terrorists attacked an army camp in Uri, killing 19 soldiers, and four days after the army carried out a surgical strike across the Line of Control.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval discussed the incident and necessary instructions have been given to the forces.

Singh also spoke to Director General of BSF K.K. Sharma.

This was the first major attack on security forces by terrorists after the Indian Army launched surgical strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir last week.

The attack comes despite intelligence inputs about possible terrorist attacks on security installations in Jammu & Kashmir following the operations in Pakistan occupied Kashmir on September 29.
