Transfat in desi food

Samosas, kachoris, pakoras and gathiya contain transfat. Any food cooked in vanaspati oil is loaded with it.

Fried food: Samosas, kachoris, pakoras and gathiya contain transfat. Any food cooked in vanaspati oil is loaded with it.

Margarine: It is all transfat and worse than butter

Baked goods: Cakes, cookies and pies sold in shops are made using transfat instead of butter as is the ready-made icing on pastries

Snacks:  Potato and corn chips often contain transfat. And while popcorn can be a healthy snack, packaged or microwave popcorn use transfat to help cook or flavour it.
