We haven’t been doing anything out of the ordinary except eating good home-cooked meals and taking vitamin C and zinc tablets as prescribed by our doctor. We always did exercise. Since we’ve been at home, I’ve been doing yoga three or four times a week online with my teacher and I’ve lost about seven kilos because of that. But it’s also a result of not eating any outside food, not eating anything oily and personally when I’m not working out, I cut down on my food intake. Generally, I don’t think there is much you can do other than lead a healthy lifestyle and do some moderate exercises every day.

I have always been regular with my exercises but because of the busy schedules — like last year was one of the busiest years of my life and I miss it though — I didn’t have a lot of time to exercise but I’d try to work out three days a week for at least half an hour. But this year I exercise almost five to six days a week unless I’m super depressed or have work. I have also started taking vocal classes where I sit with an electric tanpura and I do saregamapa for half an hour and make sure I work out. I was never a big fan of yoga but I always did high intensity workouts or play music and dance for hours or go out for a run. But it was in April and the world had shut and things were uncertain so I followed a couple of yoga channels and did some basic flows. So, keep a mix of yoga and high intensity work out. I have been a regular vitamin popper but now I am being mindful of eating fruits.

My mom has been extremely informed about Covid and she’s been keeping herself updated. So my parents have been working throughout the pandemic as well, since they’re dentists. Our supplement intake has increased a lot during the pandemic for immunity boost. Apart from that my mom has been forcing me to take this haldi-ginger drink with warm water. I wasn’t having it in Mumbai and my parents have been having it throughout the lockdown. Now I am under their supervision so I am made to have it every day. I have been on shoots for the past two months, surrounded by crew and people who are on screen and can’t even wear a mask. So it is a little scary but it is our line of work.

I am working out almost twice a day and following the basic protocol, which has been advised to everyone. Hot water, gargle, turmeric…. I also have a brand of organic products from which I have been consuming a lot of organic honey. I’m focusing on staying fit, being careful about the multivitamins and not missing a day. Whenever I’m back home from a gig, I have a hot water shower and I make sure my mask is on at all times. I keep sanitising my hands and I am only present at places where I am sure that people are taking precautions.

The main part of immunity depends on how our brain is functioning. If you have a healthy happy mind, get up from the right side of the bed and do things, be enthusiastic.... As far as maintaining my immunity, I am doing exercises and running every day but it’s also important to keep your head above the water. The life of playing in big arenas and travelling for tournaments is gone now, we are living very mundane lives now. It was a huge challenge for me to adjust to this life. I really worked on my mental aspect to be hopeful, to have a happy and healthy mind. It’s what you keep feeding your mind every day, what you keep telling yourself. Immunity for me is partly there.

I have started doing surya namaskar regularly in the morning and also consuming vitamin C and multivitamin tablets. During the lockdown I started taking the pills and have continued. Before the lockdown I used to have lemon water and did a bit of yoga. Now during the lockdown I am keeping myself more hygienic.

I have been spending most of time at home, eating home-cooked food, primarily vegetarian and a lot of fruit juices. I have also been going for a run every now and then to keep in shape. Running helps me because it helps in increasing my lung capacity which is every important when it comes to rapping.
