What: Ilish vs Chingri Festival, as part of City Centre Salt Lake Food Festival, partnered by t2
Where: City Centre Salt Lake, Kund area
When: July 1 to 3, noon to 9pm
What to expect: It doesn’t matter which side of the ilish versus chingri battle you are on as long as you are served the best of both worlds at one place. You agree? Then head to the Kund area of the Salt Lake mall, where a dozen restaurants from across the city will bring you a finger-licking menu of prawn and hilsa dishes for the next three days. For now, all your Ghoti-Bangal, East Bengal-Mohun Bagan, north-south fights can take a break. Dig in and relish the awesome twosome!

Organiser speak: “Tarkapriya Bangali or the argumentative Bengali loves to debate over everything, and chingri versus ilish is the yummiest of the lot. We thought why not give it some more steam with a food festival? Come and enjoy hilsa and prawn delicacies — from Chingri Maachher Malai Curry to Bhapa Ilish — at our Salt Lake mall,” said Ramesh Pandey, GM (marketing and events), Ambuja Neotia Group.

Brand-wagon: Bong Connection, Bijoli Grill, Raajbarir Khawa, Apanjan, Bhooter Raja Dilo Bar, Continental Caterer, Bibi of Taaja’s, Mitra Cafe, The Bhoj Company, Tilottama, Basmati and Sudipa-r Rannaghar.

With great products comes great responsibility! The new Imagine Support Lounge at City Centre Salt Lake offers all the support you need for your Apple products. Spread across 2,000sq ft space, this is the third Apple Authorised Service centre by Systematix Media, after Ho Chi Minh Sarani and City Centre Salt Lake. “However, this is the first lounge. We felt the need to offer comfortable waiting as the lifestyle of general Mac customers are such that they expect a better experience. Plus, Apple users have multiplied in the city. Currently, around 150-200 customers visit the Ho Chi Minh Sarani outlet for support on a weekend,” said Sanjay Chordia, director, Systematix Media. Here’s a fun fact — some of the issues tackled by the Imagine staff range from “my partner threw the phone in anger” to one of the most common complaints —  “my phone fell into water”. Haven’t we all been there! :>

FB privacy hoax
Read on if your Facebook page is inundated with a status update warning users that their entire FB history will become public unless they copy and paste the message onto their own page. According to the message, “Channel 13 News” has reported on the change which will become effective from “tomorrow”.

It even cites the Rome Statute (global laws from the International Criminal Court covering war crimes and genocide) and the UCC (the US Uniform Commercial Code) to instil fear in users. Don’t sweat because it’s all a hoax.

Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook has responded to the hoax, saying: “Don’t believe it. You own your content and can control how it is shared through your privacy settings.”
