Vicky Kaushal, who stunned audiences with his performance in Masaan, is fast becoming a favourite with film-makers. After being paired opposite Alia Bhatt in Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi, Vicky has signed on with Karan Johar for his short film in Bombay Talkies 2.0. opposite Kiara Advani.
Besides, he has bagged an important role in Rajkumar Hirani’s biopic on Sanjay Dutt and in Ronnie Screwvala’s production Uri based on last year’s surgical strikes.
“I am extremely thankful that film-makers such as Raju Sir and Karan Sir are showing trust in me. It is a lot for this newcomer who has just started his career. Just to be getting these opportunities means a lot to me,” said the talented actor.
On the Bombay Talkies sequel, he said: “All the short films will be based on the theme of ‘love and lust’. It’s got me, Kiara and Neha (Dhupia)… it’s also peppered with a lot of good situational comedy. Karan had experimented in the first film and he is also sort of experimenting this time, but it won’t be a serious film. I am excited and it’s like a dream come true to be directed by him.”
The film’s shoot will be wrapped up in a week once it goes on the floors in the first week of December. “It really was a pleasant surprise for me,” Vicky said about bagging the part, “that he (Karan) considered me. That’s why when someone asks me about my career I say that I feel like I am in a dream sequence. God has been really kind because whatever is happening in my life now is way better than anything I had imagined when I started off. I feel lucky and blessed.”
