With the aqua blue ocean as the backdrop, Jeet and Kannada actress Aindrita Ray had a blast on Algarve beach in Portugal grooving to the beats of the fun song Tatka Priya Marie from Jeet-starrer Bachchan, which releases on September 26. What’s special about Tatka Priya Marie? It marks Jeet’s debut as a playback singer! “This may be the first time I’ve sung for a film, but I’ve been singing at my stage shows for many years now! For a long time my fans have been requesting me to sing, and I had been harbouring a desire to sing for one of my films as well. Things fell into place with Bachchan,” said Jeet, a fan of singers like Kishore Kumar, Mohd Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Kumar Sanu and Sonu Nigam. Here, clad in a white tee and red pants, Jeet strikes the Krishna pose for Aindrita (yes, she’s named Priya in the film!). “The Algarve beach is wonderful. Lots of local people dropped by to watch the shoot,” Jeet added. The song hits the airwaves today.

Tatka Priya Marie, shot at seven-eight different locations over three days in Portugal, sees Jeet donning everything from fluorescent tees, multicoloured jackets, red pants to funky shades! “Bachchan is a very happy film and we have kept my clothes colourful keeping in mind the theme,” smiled Jeet.

While Aindrita sent the hotness quotient soaring with her shorts and midriff-baring shirt, Jeet kept it cool with his shades, boots and red pants. The Bachchan star, who is quite kicked about Tatka Priya Marie, says that he wasn’t nervous during the recording of the song in Bombay. “Jeet Gannguli guided me and I nailed the song in three hours. If this song is accepted by all, then I might do a romantic or a soft number next,” smiled Jeet.

“Jeet really worked hard on the song... he took it very seriously and practised for a month. He is comfortable in mid-octave,” said music director Jeet Gannguli.
