It’s been eight years in the waiting to find who that mysterious woman underneath that (now) iconic ‘yellow umbrella’ is. Or, if she ever really was real. But as How I Met Your Mother Season 8 draws to an end, (drumroll please) the mother of all mothers is finally out of the bag (make that umbrella) after a 183-episode wait. No, we’re not giving away who she is just yet and before you dive for your tablets and laptops to Google, here’s a list of all the women who could be The Mother of Ted Mosby’s kids.

Robin Scherbatsky
The first and obvious choice. They dated, they broke up. They dated and they dated again. BFFs Robin and Ted are the most lovable couple in HIMYM. While she’s a gun-loving, cigar-smoking, whisky-guzzling independent Canadian journalist in NY, Ted is a mushy singing-in-the-rain architect. It’s because they are opposites that they attract — but that also leads them to drift apart as a couple. Despite all that, they manage to remain friends. Will they, won’t they?

Karen
Ted’s on-and-off blonde girlfriend through high school and college. She dates Ted, cheats on him and then gets back. Reason enough for both Marshall and Lily to hate her. Add to that her pretentious nature — she thought salt was “bourgeois” and didn’t know what a TV was. Plus, Lily hates Karen even more after she stares at a nude Marshall a tad longer than necessary after she walks in on Lily doing a nude portrait of him. The final straw? Karen expects Ted never to see Lily again. This time, Ted breaks up. Will they meet again?

Victoria
She leaves town to accept a culinary scholarship in Germany and their long-distance relationship fizzles out. This very likable Ms Buttercup later runs away from her own wedding to Klaus as she has Ted on her mind. They eventually don’t work out because she can’t take the fact that he’s “friends with his ex”. She asks him to stop seeing Robin as she’s afraid his feelings for her might rekindle at some point. Her parting words to Ted before she walks away crying — “I really hope you get her someday”. Count us in.

Zoey Pierson
He’s building the brand new GNB headquarters by demolishing The Arcadian. She’s a hardcore activist who’d previously set a car on fire after the Guns ’N Roses 2009 concert and stolen a police horse at an anti-war rally. But naturally, they start off as enemies. Married to The Captain (who she later divorces as she’s in love with Ted), Zoey leaves Ted in a fix as he is left wondering what to choose — the girl who won his heart or his lifelong dream of adding a skyscraper to the New York skyline.

Stella Zinman
She’s not a Star Wars fan. And trust Ted’s best friend Marshal to catch that lie when she fakes it. From refusing to date Ted at first (because he was her patient — she removed his butterfly tramp-stamp of a tattoo) to going on a two-minute date which ends with the couple kissing, Ted proposes to her only to be left waiting at the altar as she leaves to get back with her ex, Tony, with nothing but a note for the lonely groom. Aww.

What: Idea Rocks India, in association with t2
Where: Nicco Park, 7pm onwards, on May 17
The ‘idea’: The winner of the Idea Rocks India talent hunt in Calcutta will be announced right before the event and will get the opportunity to perform with Mika Singh on stage. The auditions to select the final four contestants was held last week and individual videos for each finalist was prepared by the Idea group to be judged by rockstar Mika. This talent competition is being held by Idea in 16 cities with Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy performing in eight cities and Mika performing in the other eight. The passes for the concert are being given out at Pantaloons and CCD outlets and at road shows held by Idea Rocks India all over town.
