The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives has returned on Netflix for a second season with the spotlight on four celebrity wives (one ex-wife and three wives this time). This time, Neelam Kothari, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Panday and Seema Sajdeh are more candid about their personal lives, making this Karan Johar production everything that has been missing from Season 7 of his talk show Koffee with Karan.

From being at each other’s throats to having each other’s back, the four wives of Bollywood have delivered an entertaining second season. Here are the highlights that make the eight-episode show worth a watch.

Closer look at their glam lives

Season 1 introduced us to the real-life girl gang of Neelam, Maheep, Bhavana and Seema, the wives of actors Samir Soni, Sanjay Kapoor, Chunky Panday and Sohail Khan respectively. Season 2 gives us a closer look at their personal lives, their relationships with each other and with their spouses and children.

If you are expecting the star wives to spill some secrets, Season 2 fulfills your wish. We get more than a glimpse of how the glam women maintain their glam looks through cosmetic procedures and even face yoga!

Matchmaker Sima Taparia is hired for a job

One of the important plot points of the second season is around Seema Sajdeh, who was Seema Khan in the first season. Seema is now divorced from Sohail Khan, the youngest brother of Salman Khan, and Maheep and show producer Karan Johar want to find a match for the single mom of two.

Maheep hires Sima Taparia — the famous matchmaker from the Netflix show Indian Matchmaking — for the job, and the clash between the mindsets of Sima and Seema is amusing to watch.

Seema is distraught at the matchmaker’s archaic views on marriage. And the look on Sima’s face is priceless when Seema says that she might be better off with a woman.

Karan, too, tries to do his bit by arranging a surprise “blind date” with rapper Badshah, claiming that he is single as well. Neither Badshah nor Seema seems interested, and Karan hits a deadend.

Chunky and Bhavana’s second wedding

The main event this season is Chunky and Bhavana Panday’s second wedding. Bhavana wants to celebrate 24 years of her marriage to the Tezaab actor by having a second wedding where they can renew their vows.

But before her wish can come true, Bhavana has to convince her husband, along with her children and parents, to come around to the idea. She also has to face her friends joking every time the topic comes up for discussion.

A lot of prep goes into organising the wedding ceremony, which takes place in the eighth and final episode, riding high on emotional speeches. The couple exchange vows and a passionate kiss, with their friends cheering them on.

Karan Johar’s celebrity lineup

With Karan Johar holding the reins of the show, there’s more star shower in the second season. Gauri Khan has become a staple on the show and her friendship with the four wives is explored in greater detail this season. Karan features in several episodes, often bringing with him celebrities like Badshah and Shweta Bachchan Nanda. The line-up Season 2 celebrities include filmmakers Zoya Akhtar and Farah Khan, designer Manish Malhotra and actors Bobby Deol, Arjun Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Ranveer Singh.
