After being paired opposite Dev in four back-to- back films (Challenge, Poran Jai Joliya Re, Romeo and Khokababu) Subhashree will finally romance a new hero in director duo Surajit Dhar-Sudarshan Basu’s Megh Roddur. The love story is “inspired by” the Julia Roberts-Hugh Grant romcom Notting Hill (1999).
Newcomer Palash Ganguly will slip into the shoes of Hugh Grant while Subhashree will play a screen star who falls in love with an ordinary guy.
“Megh Roddur isn’t a scene-by-scene remake of Notting Hill, you can say Notting Hill is just an inspiration.... Subhashree fits the bill to play a star,” said Surajit, whose debut film Pa Ma Ga Re Sa released in 2009.
“I’m really excited to play an actress on screen for the first time,” is all Subhashree will reveal at the moment.
Produced by DK Entertainment, a major chunk of Megh Roddur will be shot in the hills of Meghalaya. The film goes on the floors on June 11.
