Shruti Haasan, the new brand ambassador of Emami Navratna Cool Talc, shares her daily skin regimen, summer skin fix and the films she’s busy with, in an email chat with t2.
How do you take care of your skin in summer?
It’s a tough time for our skin in the harsh summer heat. One should be extra careful about skincare. Always keep a sunscreen handy, keep your skin clean, drink a lot of water, avoid oily food and have lots of fresh fruits and veggies.
What’s your daily skin regimen?
Make-up is a huge part of our work days and so I ensure that I wash, moisturise and tone my skin. On off-days, I avoid applying anything cosmetic as the skin needs to breathe. But I do keep a layer of sunscreen on. In addition, I drink plenty of water and vegetable juice to ensure my skin is healthy.
Do you use homemade packs?
Well, sometimes I do, but it’s more like multani mitti with sandalwood, aloe (vera) and curd. It’s very nourishing and helps remove the dead pores.
Tanned skin is a huge problem in summer. Any quick fix?
Potato skin peel offers a super anti-tan solution. Gram flour and milk paste do a great job too.
How often do you visit a salon and a spa?
With my busy schedule, my spa dates are unfortunately fewer than I would like. I manage to go maybe once in 30 to 45 days. Salon visits of course are as often as the need arises.
What makes Shruti and Emami Navratna Cool Talc a brand fit?
I am happy to be associated with Navratna Cool Talc. It is a wonderful cooling talc which gives respite from the heat and discomfort of the Indian summer. It will keep you and me fresh and vibrant.
You’ve had a huge hit recently in Gabbar Is Back. Your spunky look and act was appreciated...
People have been very appreciative of my look and my work. I am glad to have received such a great response. It was a great experience and I am now looking forward to my next films (Welcome Back and Rocky Handsome, both with John Abraham).
How is Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Yaara with Vidyut Jammwal and Amit Sadh shaping up?
It’s looking great so far. We are all quite happy with how it’s coming together. I do hope everyone likes it as much as we hope.
When can we hear you singing again?
Very soon hopefully!
