It was a festive four days recently at the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) for the 77th edition of Rebecca, the Sibpur institute’s annual cultural fest.

Held in association with The Telegraph-YOU, the fest was inaugurated by IIEST director Ajoy Kumar Ray. On the first night, named Saptami, the campus hosted a classical night with performances by Ustad Rashid Khan and singer Lagnajita of Bawshonto eshe gechhe fame.

On the second night, Ashtami, rock bands like Fossils swept the audience off their feet. It was followed by performances by dance groups, which had everyone tapping their foot passionately.

Nabami saw the band Alienz take the stage by storm, while Shilajit sang a mix of Bengali and Hindi numbers.

Finally, it was the last night of the fest — Dashami, which ended with bittersweet memories for the outgoing batch. From Mr and Miss Rebecca and Footloose to street dance and a fashion show, the final day had a number of fun competitions. The fest ended with a show by Mumbai-based singer Aditi Singh Sharma and the band Underground Authority.
