Ranbir Kapoor turned a “meme expert” in a recent Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar promotional video in which he recreated popular meme-worthy scenes of Rajinikanth, Nana Patekar and even his wife Alia Bhatt.

The 40-year-old actor, who doesn’t have a social media presence, also recreated iconic scenes from his films Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani for the video shared by Jio Saavn on Instagram.

“I am not on social media. But in my film Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar, I am a relationship expert. In real life, I’m an even bigger meme expert. Let me show you,” he says in the video titled ‘Tu Template, Main Meme'.

In the video, Ranbir enacts several iconic scenes from films and web series that have become viral memes over the years in response to several templates that appear on the screen.

The video begins with Ranbir recreating the famous ‘Sh*t’ meme that featured Rajinikanth. The template says “When you thought they were the one, but then they start doing ‘Babu Shona’”.

He moves on to the Hackerman meme from the popular series Mr Robot, starring Rami Malek, in response to the template “taking their number on the pretext of collecting notes.”

The next template is “you have many girlfriends”. Ranbir imitates Uday Bhai (played by Nana Patekar) from Anees Bazmee’s 2007 blockbuster comedy Welcome. “Control RK, control,” he says.

He then performs the memorable ‘Tu jaa’ scene from Ayan Mukerji’s 2013 romcom Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, as a reaction to the template “when they don’t like momos’.

This is followed by the next template “Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years”. Ranbir enacts the song Channa Mereya from Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016) in response because his answer is “singing at my crush’s wedding”.

In the last act, Ranbir’s template is “At a family wedding, when relatives ask you to get married next”. He recreates his wife Alia’s scene from Raazi. “Mujhe ghar jaana hai,” he screams while clutching onto the wall.
