Amidst the Durga Puja celebrations in the city, the Gujarat Club Calcutta (GCC) celebrated the pearl jubilee of Madhur Mahotsav, in association with t2, at Kala Mandir.
First up was the enactment of four Gujarati dramas — Aav Taru Kari Nakhu, Garvi Gujaraatane Rang Rakhyo, Hello Pakistani Hun Gujarati and Damodar Deevaano Thayo from October 11 to 18. The last two days were dedicated to Masti Ki Pathshala — a musical event where Aishwarya Majmudar of Amul STAR Voice of India fame sang melodious Bolly numbers along with Gujarati tracks.
The 10-day event had a total of 15 shows including dramas and the musical performance. To add a feel of Gujarat, clay matkas, rangoli and toran were placed at the venue.
“Creating a feel of Gujarat for our community here in the city has always been one of our aims. Everyone who attended the event was very happy and almost all the days were houseful,” said Manoj Tolia, president of The Gujarat Club.
